Lost mouse after ATI install

I managed to install ATI drivers, with the help of this thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=356511

However, now my mouse wheel doesn't work. I guess this is something minor, but I just can't get it to work. I'd be happy to have some help?

Hello!

I had this problem several times with a nvidia driver and a M$ Intellimouse Explorer.

I solved the problem by reconfiguring the mouse.

This problem does not occur since version 9.3 and above.

Greetings

What kind of mouse are you using and was it configured with YaST or manually by you? I have a logitech MX500, which worked for basic functions with the default installation. (The mouse wheel worked, but I had to enter manual settings to get the side buttons to work properly.) After installing the ATI drivers, I had to edit the xorg.conf file to get the wheel back.

The ATI configuration script modifies the xorg.conf file, which is where the settings for your mouse are located. It was probably initially set up by sax2 so that it worked with your mouse, but the ATI configuration program did away with all that. You'll probably need to manually edit the xorg.conf file with the proper settings to get it to to work again. What those settings are depends on your mouse.

I have M$ intellimouse explorer. You're right, it worked just fine, but the ATI installer messed it up. I had to vi xorg.conf (just adding the following: Option "ZaxisMapping" "4 5" ) to get it to work.
