Lost "HAL"
I installed some upgrade patches recommended by YAST and now when I try to download from my camera "HAL" doesn't load. There was one warning but I didn't catch it all except it had to do with "HAL". I am using SUSE 10.3. I have considerable trouble downloading from my Canon Powershot A400,. One of the patches had something to do with Canon cameras. Is there any way to remove the updates I just installed? I don't remember what they were except there was 4 of them. Or how can I fix "HAL"? Help, please.

I had the same problem yesterday. I am not sure what it was, but after taking the latest set of upgrades, everything seemed screwy. My USB memory sticks wouldn't work, the internet wouldn't connect, etc. etc. Lots of HAL related messages. A reboot corrected it.
