hello all,
please bear with a poor newbie more than willing to learn.
i'd like to install lopster (a napster client, for those who don't know it you can check it out
here) on my SuSE 9.2 box. i'm running on a x86_64 architecture.
however, i cannot seem to get it work, because:
1. if i try to compile the source code, at the very first command ./configure i get an error stating that the gtk libraries cannot be found (however i've installed everything that looks like gtk on the original source DVD):
checking for gtk-config... no
checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.0... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
2. i tried finding a YaST repository with lopster but couldn't find it.
3. neither i could find a rpm package.
-> anyone has a clue? i read around that this is exactly one of the most annoying problems of this very nice distri i'm really happy about, though when it comes to installing packages not included in the original deploy that can generate some mess.
what should i do? install yum? apt-get?
any ideas more than welcomed.
thank you in advance,
aj, enjoying the trip to linux.
