I have just installed a Suse 9.2 32/64. It simply won't load the desktop. All i get is a blank screen with a mouse cursor, or a blue status bar halfway up the screen with unreadable gibberish underneath, or worst of all, a blank screen that refreshes at a too high a rate for my monitor.
I have tried troubleshooting through the set up. I have tried pressing shift throughout boot as well. I then come to a prompt screen and enter "linux" and it boots to the blank unviewable screen. I have the CD as boot master drive with the distro inserted as per the Novell website. Yet I still can not get the computer to boot. Incidentally, pressing CTRL ALT F1 once YAST appears to be starting allows me to flick to a status screen.
I am a first time user of linux, so any ideas would be useful. Cheers.
