Linksys WPC11 PCMCIA card

Okay, so I've tried to configure this card in Suse with no luck. It does not appear to be initialized and detected. I'm ruling out hardware problems because it worked fine under Windows. I've tried adding a Wireless Card in YaST with no luck, too.

Or does Suse even support this card out of the box? Do I have to download the Linksys drivers? I'm just looking for a way to config this, as I'm sure Suse has support for this somewhere, no?

p.s. I've looked all over for help before posting, including these forums...
Thank you very much!

What version of the card do you have? I ran this card on Suse 9.1, but have since upgraded laptops and now have an internal.

Version 3. Should Suse 9.2 detect during install?

I have this same card, please let me kow if you figured it out. I have used this card on 20+ distributions working perfectly, from SuSE 9.0, 9.1, Slackware, Redhat, Fedora, Debian, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, DSL, Feather, Mandrake, etc...

My problem is that it IS in fact recognized, AND it's getting an IP from DHCP via my Linksys router (192.168.0.3 to be exact) but I CANNOT access the internet, or my network at home... ifconfig displays the IP address as well as some random inet6 addrss too.. I don't know why because I don't have anything handing out IPv6 addresses... maybe it's just a default? Anyways..this is very strange... other than that.. I LOVE 9.2!!!

I have Version 4 of this card and ifconfig tells me that it does see the card and that I have an assigned ip address, but I am still unable to access the internet. Any help would be great.

I just installed a different card (SMC 2632W V3) for 802.11b.

After installing the drivers and assigning an IP, I was able to ping my router and the Windows computer on my network, and after getting the IP for a website (by pinging it in Windows) I was able to reach it.

I had to use YAST to fill in the fields for my 1) Name servers (DSN servers) and 2)Default Gateway (i.e. router).

Once I did this I was able to browse the net. Hope this helps.
