libmad.so.0
Hi,
i've been trying to install MPlayer in my SuSE 9.3 and I can't, because i need libmad.so.0
I looked for it in phobos page or something like that (an rpm searcher) i downloaded mad rpm but YAST doesn't let me install it. Does anyone have that RPM so that he can send it to me or tell me where to download it???
I also need libmpeg3
Thanks

If you run YOU, there are about 5 groups of multimedia patches available. I am sure libmad is among those available patches.

I am not sure about the exact link locations, but you could take a look at the Suse ftp mirrors and search for multimedia patches.

It's on the install disks. It took me a while to find it too when I installed MPlayer.
lzo-1.08-106.i586.rpm
Just search for lzo in Yast software install.

Gonto: are you trying to compile mplayer or do you install from rpm? In the first case, you should look for the mad-devel package. In the second case you need only mad. Most of these multimedia packages can be found at http://packman.links2linux.org/ . A very nice tool to find out which package contains a certain file is 'pin'.

I mentioned in my previous post that libmad was available in the multimedia patches if you run YOU. Did you even try that?

Here is a list of all the rpms that CAN be installed on SuSE 9.3. Now, your mileage may vary and certain countries frown upon you installing some of them. But, I think this list is complete if you want a fully functioning MPlayer.
divx4linux-20030428-0.pm.0.i386.rpm
lame-3.96.1-pm.1.i586.rpm
libdvdcss-1.2.8-1.i386.rpm
libogg-1.1.2-0.pm.0.i686.rpm
libtheora-1.0alpha4-0.pm.0.i686.rpm
lzo-1.08-106.i586.rpm
w32codec-all-20050216-0.pm.0.i386.rpm
MPlayer-1.0pre7-pm.2.i686.rpm

Did you install this package:
mad-0.15.1b-31.i586.rpm
Check with 'rpm -q mad'
