kopete webcam black screen

Hello. I'm using suse 10.1 and I have a logitech pro 4000 camera. I can view my friends webcams just fine in kopete, but when I try sending my own all they see is a black screen. In kopete device config it correctly shows my webcam model and make but in there too it shows the black screen. Is there something I need to enable? My sysyem is a default suse 10.1 install.

ok, I have made some progress. I unloaded the old webcam driver that came with suse 10.1 and compiled a pwc driver for my webcam. The video plays in kopete now, but it is in black and white, and kinda dark. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I can view my webcam just fine now in kdetv, but for some reason the same black screen has appeared in kopete. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

have had nothign but problems trying to get this driver working. It was working for a while then it just quit. I tried reinstalling the driver but I can't get it working again. I think the pwc driver that comes with suse 10.1 is interfering with the new driver, and i don't know how to get rid of it. when I boot up suse i see in the boot screen it detects my logitech pro 4000 cam. Can anyone suggest how to proceed? Thanks.
