Kingston pen drive

I' using a Kingston DataTraveler pen drive in Opensuse 10.2
It is automatically recognized when inserted - but after a while the pen disconnects itself and I need to reinsert it to use it again.
Can someone helps ?

I have been having the same problem. At first I thought the problem was my Kingston DataTraveler, but the same thing would happen to my external usb drives too. Now I think it's something to do with the usb ports and Linux. If I bootup with anything already plugged in, the ports works fine, no disappearing DataTraveler or external drives.

Do you happen to use some kind of "sleep" thing in your USB ports, so that they power off after some idle time? I must admit I've never seen this "in action" myself but some techie "helpdesk" dudes I call from work tend to suggest that once in a while if I'm having problems with USB keys vital to some systems..

I've that problem even when I boot with the pen already inserted.
But it happens only in Suse - I used the same pen in other distributions (Fedora, Debian) before and worked fine.
Any ideas how to solve this ?
