Keyboard shortcuts in Beryl

I followed post #5 in this guide to install beryl on suse - http://forum.beryl-project.org/topic...led-suse-xorg7
It was working perfectly but after a clean reinstall of suse I followed the guide again and beryl is working but it's not accepting my keyboard shortcuts. I'm not sure if it's a beryl problem or a suse problem but in particular it is refusing to accept my Ctrl, Shift or Super/win-keys and some of the shortcuts mapped to the Alt key are working when I press Win-key but others aren't, they just don't seem to be recognised properly.
I checked my keyboard settings in yast and kde control centre and they are set to British as they should be.
The keyboard is set to 105, I don't know the model of my keyboard but it came with a HP Pavillion, I have seen the keyboard on various websites but can't find a model name or anything
so I assume it's some generic thing.

Wink hint

Had similar problem.. Shortcuts with <Alt> didn' work at all..
So i replaced <Alt> with <Mod1> and voila..

Actually, here is a full list of replacements:
Control,
Shift,
Mod1 (Alt)
Mod2 (NumLock)
Mod3 (CapsLock)
Mod5 (Scroll)
Hope it helps someone.. Cheers
