Kernal Update

Hi,

I've been trying to get my wireless working for the longest time with ndiswrapper. Everything that should be installed and configured is but the thing that is causing it to fail is wlan0 never seem to be activated even though its setup in YaST. After I set it up, I can't see it in ifconfig. My friend took a look at it and says I have to update my kernal.

Which one should I update to and how do I go about doing that? (I'm still pretty new and haven't had to do it yet).

Yeah, I'd like to know how to do that too. I'm using Fedora Core 3. I installed ndiswrapper, and read how to get it working, but it seems that whenever I do a "modprobe ndiswrapper" after I've installed the drivers, it hangs. It has to do with Linux not allowing access to memory above 4KB or something. You have to recompile the kernel to allow 8KB. When you find out how to recompile the kernel, it'd be appreciated if you let me know. Heh, I'll start researching it now. :D

Go into YaST and run the Online Update (aka YOU). It should find the latest kernel available from SuSE for you. If that's not the kernel your friend thinks you need; then you might want to consider having your friend do the updating.
