KDE4 in SUSE 10.3

Hi,
I have installed all KDE4 packages with YAST. What to do to activate them? I mean, I would like that they start automatically when boot into SUSE.
I can start Kontact. I opened terminal window and insert kontact. After that Kontact was installed properly and is also starting with the system. But how to start the komplete KDE4?

Hi. This link to the KDE development site describes what you're looking for.

You need to install the kdebase4-session package, so that the desktop option KDE4 will appear when logging in.

Once you add the Build Service repo for KDE 4 (I think it's download.opensuse.org/repositories/KDE:/KDE4/openSUSE_10.3/ but check that on the web) you'll have a new Pattern in YaST Software Management (change Search using the drop-down to Patterns).

That might be the easiest way. Just put a check in the KDE4 Default pattern and install it. Then you'll have a choice in your login manager for KDE4. A warning: the desktop is not fully functional yet. It's like a preview of what's to come. Don't expect everything to work. That's why it's installed in addition to your normal KDE choice. Use that for normal work.
