ivtv drivers for suse 9.3

I installed the ivtv drivers from an RPM from Suse using yast, but when I check with the Suse hardware tool, it still doesn't show ivtv drivers for the Hauppauge 350 video card. Yet it says the card is ok and it is configured. I've also tried modprobing ivtv and nothing changes. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do to correct it, or could you?

Hi,

I know it is a little to late, but maybe it will help. Try TVTime. It is the only TV package working for me. I removed all other because they are not playing well.

regards

TvTime does not work with cards using ivtv drivers.

mplayer does, xine does, but neither really work well, thy only app I have found that works extremely well is mythtv.

Thanks for the replies, I want to clarify my problem. It isn't with the playback of video through a player, it's a problem of me not having freevo configured correctly to initialize the ivtv card to create an .mpeg file that is the recorded video. Both mplayer and xine play videos fine for me from other sources, that's why i don't suspect the players as the problem. Freevo is creating an .fxd file for each recording I've attempted to record, but no .mpeg file is being created. In local_conf.py, I have tried many different variations to initialize recording, most I got from Freevo's Wiki, none work. Any other ideas out there?
