issue with java JRE in SUSE

hello folks, when I try to upgrade to the lastest java 1.5.04 in suse 9.3, I did what I supposed to do, uninstall first java 1.42, ok no problem in that, when the upgrade is completed, I restart the machine, well when I need to install a program that requiere java, SUSE does not read that I have installed the lastest java version, SUSE think that I don't have Java and all the time is asking me to install the 1.42 version, how I can fix this problem in SUSE? thanks for any advice!

Hummm, I ran YOU and upgraded from there.

I selected packages that were installed and installable, then scrolled down to JRE java package and upgraded to 1.5

You can get JRE 1.5 RPMs for most SuSE systems on this site...
