Is there an easy way to install gnomad2?
I wana use my Creative Zen Xtra on my Linux rig. Just not with Banshee.
SUSE 10.1, comes with "out of the box" support for Ipods and Zen Juboxes. However Banshee is designed to work similar to Itunes where the player has to be syncronized to the computer library. I have heard from Ipod users that if you take your Ipod with music already on it, that if you connect it to another computer other than your own, when you scyncronize the player via itunes to that other computer's library, it will erase all the music on the player and replace it with music on that computer's music library.
You see I already have music on my Zen Xtra, which I placed on there using my Windows rig.
I have heard of another program called gnomad2 which is a open source app to manage Creative Labs jukeboxes.
I need the latest version of libusb, libusb-devel, Hotplug, Hotplug-devel.
yast has libusb, but does not list libusb-devel. I have searched rpbone.net for hotplug, yet come up with too many non related results. searching for libusb only returns libusb and not libusb-devel.
The tutorial on the gnomad2 site is very vague as most are, and it came from someone who uses Debian.
I have tried installing a gnomad2 rpm I found on pbone.net for SUSE 9.3 (the latest one they had), the package installed, but i did not see it in my app pannel, nor did it pop up when I pluged in my player Banshee did). The tutorial never mentioned any shell command to run it.
Please can anyone tell me if there is an easy to install app for linux that just alows me to add and delete files without any syncro crap, like my trusty Creative app that came with my player, which only runs on Windows.
I have thought about Wine, however the app communicated to a special creative driver that you must install for windows to even see the player. So scratch Wine out the picture.
