internet connection unreliable - KNetworkManager's fault?
very often, maybe every third time i start my notebook, firefox, which starts automatically to load gmail, will tell me that there was not found any server ("tjeneren ikke funnet") - and i will not have internet. this is particularly annoying since starting suse 10.1 takes about as long as it took to write the bible. i recognized that the error appears when knetworkmanager's first message is "connecting" ("kobler til") instead of "connected" ("tilkobling aktiv") - though the optimistic message "connected" appears in the first case, too. what might be the problem? i know that there is no chance for failure in the connection itself.
Well, I don't know what could be the reason, but if you suspect, that knetworkmanager is the reason, just try to change in yast that the default network-managing-tool is iwconfig/wireless-tools and try out if the failure appears again. I think their is a fair chance, that knetworkmanager causes the problem, because its quite knew.
