Installing Suse 9.2 with RAID 0 - Seperate Drives Seen
I've got an AMD Athlon 64 with an A8N-SLI motherboard and two sata hard drives in a RAID 0 array on the nForce 4 connectors. The array has Windows XP installed on it already. I want to install SuSE 9.2 so I can dual-boot with Windows XP.
The problem is that when I get to the partitioning menu, the installer doesn't see any partitions on the array. In fact, it sees the two drives separately. I get an error saying that YaST can't perform partitioning on these drives (or something; I can't recall). How do I get it to see the partitions on the array? |
I've played around with the installer and I realised that it's seeing both drives (/dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2) plus the array (/dev/sdb1). It sees the array as having one linux partition. It's not; it's NTFS. It also wants to write grub to the first drive. Would I be better off posting this in the hardware section?
