Installation stalls
I am trying to install version 10 OSS, but somehow the installation stalled after I select installation from the startup menu. I tried different installation mode, but still no success. After I select installation, there is a small dialog box with the error message "Can not display this video mode, change computer display input to 1280 X 1024 @60 hz" and it stalled at this point. I also checked the MD5 sum, and they are correct. Also the monitor is set to that resolution.
I am installing Linux to my second hard drive, The main drive has Windows XP Anyone knows how to fix this problem, I appreciate your help. Thanks! van_joe |
After booting from the installation CD, you should have an option somewhere to change the screen resolution (some F-button). If you don't find it, try 'F3' and type vga=0x313 (800x600@32k) or vga=0x316 (1024x768@32k) or vga=0x319 (1280x1024@32k), then select "Installation". Switch to smaller resolutions until it is accepted.
