Install not working

Hello,

I downloaded the DVD iso and went to install it. The system boots fine, it goes into the installer, but it fails for find any valid packages on the DVD. and I can't go forward on the install, unless I have valid packages. Yet, the same DVD works on another system. The DVD drive on the system that won't load has no known problems because it loads Windows and other distributions of Linux. Has anybody heard of this problem??? If so, what does a person need to do to get it to load?

Regads,

Randy.

Hi Randy,

Did you run an md5 on the iso image after downloading it? I dont think this is the problem but it might be a good idea just to check. Also, you might want to check you are pro-actively selecting packages - if it gets to a point where you can do this. It might also be a case of looking for packages in the wrong place - if your CD/DVD-ROM drives are not properly master/slaved this can cause problems. Again, just some suggestions for you to check out if you like.
Cheers
Chris
