install help

I have Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Fedora Core 5 install on my first hard drive. I have two hard drives. First questions is how can I can if any of the second hard drive is being used for Fedora Core 5. Second I want to install Susie 10.0 on the second hard drive and leave space to install Solairs 10 on the second hard drive. Both hard drives are 40 Gig.

Any help.
Dee

Can you please re-phrase your questions? I'm not what you're trying to do.

If you want to know which partitions are used by a distribution, have a look in the distro's /etc/fstab file to see what it mounts at boot time. If the distro is actually running, type mount or cat /proc/partitions

I did a df and this is what I got:

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00
51198124 4595812 43959576 10% /
/dev/hda6 101086 9856 86011 11% /boot
tmpfs 128048 0 128048 0% /dev/shm
[root@localhost ~]# cat /proc/partition
cat: /proc/partition: No such file or directory
[root@localhost ~]#

I did a cat /proc/partitions and this is what I got:

major minor #blocks name

3 0 39082680 hda
3 1 12289693 hda1
3 2 1 hda2
3 5 12289693 hda5
3 6 104391 hda6
3 7 14386176 hda7
3 64 39082680 hdb
3 65 39078081 hdb1
253 0 52854784 dm-0
253 1 524288 dm-1

Now how do I partition for Suse? How do I use Ysat or parted?

Thanks
Dee
