Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

Hey there, this is a long shot, im not home, so i cant test it.
Logout, and hopefully, you should get the SUSE 9.3 login screen, in the bottom right, there are two buttons, on says system, the other, something else, maybe desktop. I cant remember which, but find the one where you can choose between several desktops, widowmaker, kde and etc, choose kde, you can set it as default there.
Originally posted by Liquid_T<NL> I think the solution that Hairulfr gave is much more easy. Don't you get a login screen or something?
The above problem is known in 9.3 and I think it comes with the installation of the NVIDIA driver. If the login magager is not kdm, you will not get the menu to choose from (since this comes with kdm). But I agree: it would be more easy
