Angry I lost gnome when i upgrade to kde 3.4 from 3.3

I have recently upgrade from kde 3.3 to kde 3.4. and when i try and login to gnome to in install other updates and gnome was not present in window manager list and the admin window manger are missing. I am using suse linux 9.2.

I am wondering if there is a way to add them to kde window manager list.

P.S. I have already search the entire forums and google and found no answers. also if anyone knows how to upgrade to gnome 2.10 in suse 9.3.

as root:
rm -f /opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/sessions/gnome.desktop
cp /opt/gnome/share/xsessions/gnome.desktop /opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/sessions/
this will return the gnome option to the session list.as for upgrading to 2.10,either compile from scratch or wait for the yast updates.

not permitted to login as root,or the root password no longer works?
if the password still works, just use su and enter the password when it asks then issue the commands.

I've run into the can't log into root issue before. You need to find where SuSE keeps it's kdmrc (my problem was on a mandrake box so it was in /usr/share/config/kdm it's probably different for SuSE). In that file there is a list of hidden users, simply remove root from the hidden list of users and you'll be able to login as root.
