HP PSC 1310 on openSUSE 13.2
Hi all,
I have tried setting up my printer in a fresh openSUSE 13.2 installation, using hplip as I have in 13.1, and after it finds my driver and printers and writes the configuration in YaST and hplip. When I print with this printer, hplip gives me a notification instantly that says the print job completed even though nothing happened with my printer. I have tried resetting things up without hplip, and then I don't even get the false notification of a job completing. Is there a way to fix this? Or is this a bug that I should file? My mistake - PSC 1315. Unfortunately can't edit the title |
suse should ??? just see the HP printer at the time of install
was it plugged in to the computer during the install ? you might want to check in yast do a search for "hp" hplip and hplip-hpijs should be installed installing "OpenPrintingPPDs-hpijs" would also be a good idea then use the cups web interface to configure it -- the link below -- http://localhost:631/ Fallow the instructions on the screen for installing a new printer |
I checked and both hplip, hpijs, and OpenPrintingPPDs-hpijs were already installed, and I've tried setting it up using hplip and via the YaST printer configuration both the regular ppd and hpijs ppds.
Which commands should I configure it with in the link? I already have the right default printer set. In 13.1 YaST never detected it during the installation and I got it working fully with hplip. |
Clicked on the wrong in your link the first time - found the online interface within it. I followed the directions for setting a new printer up (slected the hpijs drivers), and when I had it do a test print, the status started at processing and finished with "stopped
"/usr/lib/cups/filter/commandtops failed". At the same time, hplip said the print job was complete even though nothing printed. |
