Ok first u need to have an account with Novell, easy and free to do so.

Then go Yast ----> Software ----> click on Novell Customer Center Configuration

at Novell Customer Center Configuration dialog choose Configure now (Recommended) and make sure that the Hardware Profile & Optional information are checked, then click Next ... wait for few to connect to the server.

New dialog will appear named Manula Interaction Required, click Continue ..... a new browser will open .... write ur email address and confirm it (make sure this email address is already registerd with Novell wbesite as part of ur account) .... click submet ... then click continue install .... the browser will disappear and u well be back to the Manula Interaction Required so wait as ur PC contacting the server, this could take more than five minuts so be patient.


Click to import the key, and if you prompted again click to import an key as well.

Message will indicate that your configuration was successful, click ok.

Now your system is connected to the server and you will see the icon down on the bottom indicating there is updates avilable, click on the notification icon to get the updates.

This is step by step how to get the updates, hope this was helpfull.

but SuSE Linux Enterprise Desktop can't connect to the server. It's said "an error occurred while connecting to the server". The details are "ERROR: Could not add 'https://update.novell.com': Failed to download XML metadata: Download failed: (https://update.novell.com/repo/repoindex.xml) Error: ConnectFailure "

I copy "https://update.novell.com/repo/repoindex.xml" to the explorer address and go to the site. It needs me to input ther user name and password. But the account I subscibe doesn't work. the account can work at http://www.novell.com/ICSLogin/?%22h...novell.com/%22.
