How to make the QtCurve theme effect on apps of gtk-2 in suse-9.2?

I download QtCurve, compile and install it. Then I copy the resultant gtkrc files of both gtk and gtk-2 to my home directory and rename them as .gtkrc and .gtkrc-2.0 respectively. However this way has effect only on gtk apps. For gtk-2 apps, how? Thanks.
