How to do offline update of KDE 3.5.4 under SuSE 10.1 x86_64?

I downloaded the rpm packages from software.opensuse.org few days ago and used 'rpm -Uhv' to update from KDE 3.5.1 to 3.5.4. However, after the update Konqueror, GIMP, YaST, Firefox and other application started to crash very often. And in some times KDE causes the system to freeze.

Unfortunately, I cannot use online updates since I have a slow Internet connection at home. I have to do the updates offline.

You can use the standard zen-updater. In the filemanager you have to right-click on the rpm-file. Then a popup-menu opens. Then you left-click on "open with 'install-software' ". You are asked for the root password and then the zen-updater begins the job he is made for. I am using the gnome desktop. But in KDE, I suppose it cannot be so different.

Hope this helps,
Thomas
