How to change keyboard layout in OpenSuse 10.3

When I installed 10.3, I must have accidentally chosen a UK keyboard layout.

No big problem there, but if I change the setting in YAST (or any other tool I can find in gnome), I end up at logon with a dialogue box saying:
Quote:

The X system keyboard settings differ from your current GNOME keyboard settings.

Expected was model "microsoftpro", layout "gb" and no options, but the the following settings were found: model "microsoftpro", layout "us" and no options.

Which set would you like to use?

Use X Settings Keep GNOME Settings (these are buttons)
How do I change the setting so that gnome recognizes the change? Has anyone seen this before?

In Kde, that would be Control Centre - Regional and Accessibility - Keyboard Layout.

Gnome may have something similar.

The point is that any graphical control type applications I can find all change the X setting and not the "gnome" settings whatever they may be.

Try these instructions (scroll down to the Gnome section).
