How to build MPPE support into custom linux kernel

Hi All,

I have successfull in compiling linux kernel from source but I am not sure how to add MPPE support to the kernel. I need to add this support to the kernel to use PPTP client to connect to MS VPN server.

Linux Distribution: SUSE 9.1

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

In the 9.1 kernel, MPPE support is included. For a custom kernel from kernel.org you'll need a patch: http://www.polbox.com/h/hs001/

kernel 2.6.15 has mppe in it. If you get a patch put it in your kernel source dir and do cat (patch name) | patch -p1
if it doesnt fail you are in business. I couldn't find the proper patch so I went to kernel 2.6.15 now my scsi cdrom wont work troubleshooting that lol...
