How to boot from another hard disk?

I had done something like this:

1) My maxtor HDD is master disk, installed with XP.
2) My seagate HDD is slave, installed with Win2000 and SUSE, when i want to use suse, i just plugout the power of maxtor, and boot suse Grub bootloader.

Right now, i feel this is tedious,
I insert the suse installation disk 1 into cdrom, boot from cdrom, on the screen , there are a few choices, one of them is linux rescue.
First choice is booting from hard disk, which gives me only to boot from windows XP of maxtor.

What can i do to boot suse which is in HDD seagate?

You can go into your bios setup and and make the seagate drive the first hard drive boot device. And you could probably configure grub to boot your winxp on the maxtor as well. I use lilo instead of grub so I can't give you exact details on grub configuration but I'm sure it can be done. If you don't want to fool around with configuring grub, you can just go back into your bios setup and set your maxtor as the first boot hard drive when you want to boot winxp.

open yast2, then system and bootloader.
Add windows by clicking add, choose Other Systems(chainloader), give it a name (windows for example) and device /dev/hda1.
SUSE is probably set up allready
