how do I upgrade from opensuse13.1 - opensuse develope?

I am thinking of trying LFS so I am pretty sure that I need to development release how do I do this, .
I just relaised that by asking this question that it is kind of a oximoron because if I am not sure as to how to do this then how can I expect to do LFS lol

opensuse 13.1 is the CURRENT

but if you really want to use a unstable testing
use "OpenSUSE-factory "
http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Factory
if you did not install a bunch of thirdparty software from thirdparty repos
then migrating should be easy
http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Factory_migration

but i do not think opensuse has been cleared to build LFS

for that install Debian 7
and build LFS on that
