How do i run Gnome on SUSE 9.2?


Heya.
I'm an hardcore newbie, and i'd like to get some help/guides to help me out with installing gnome on SUSE 9.2.

http://www.novell.com/linux/download/gnomes/ has the info, the packages and the README

If you have Suse 9.2 Professional (or you have updated your Yast update sources), you should just be able to use yast -

Install and Remove Software
Use the Selections Filter
Click on "GNOME system"
Check Dependencies
Accept [ once you resolve any dependency issues if you have any ]

How do i know if i have dependency issues?

And can someone please help me with the APT issue? i really wanna get it working.

What APT issues are you having? Install as mentioned above, log out, choose "sessions," select "GNOME" from the list and it should boot you into the GNOME environment. If you're installing from a CD set, you shouldn't have to worry about dependency issues. YaST will take care of that for you.
