Help with SuSE 9.3 NIS Install/Config

Hello,

I run three SuSE machines on my LAN, and am adding 3 more. I wanted a quick way to use centralized user/login management. LDAP/PAM seemed to be too time-consuming. I want something QUICK to configure, preferrably through Yast.

The most important thing is that I've never worked with NIS, LDAP, Kerberos, or anything like it before, and need a detailed HowTo.

I thought I had configured a NIS server properly, but when I was installing the new box it keeps erroring "NIS server not found". Honestly, I have no clue how to tell if it's a server or client problem.

Any help? Any HowTo's you can point me to?

Thanks.
