Help with REALVNC on XP accessing SUSE Enterprise server v9

Hello all, i am a Linux Newbie and have been given the task of administering a SUSE Enterprise server V9 Box.
The SUSE box controls an OCE Digital printer, the operators are unfamiliar with this new OS and have been calling me repeatedly to explain how to operate it. My office is in another building so i figured remote assistance is my best solution.
I started by enabling remote administration in YAST.
After rebooting the box i was able to login with REALVNC v4.1.2 but was unable to see the current session that the operators were viewing. Everytime i logged in i noticed my session number kept rising and i still couldn't see session 1. All i would get is a login screen with all the users on the left. I would try my root login and i would just get a blank desktop. What do i need to do to be able to view the current session? Thank you in advance for any help.

P.S. i tried TightVNC but it just hangs stating "STATUS: protocol version negotiated." then it just sits there.

KDE 3.2
YAST
SUSE Enterprise server v 9
RealVNC 4.1.2
Tight VNC 1.3.9

Did you try 'vncviewer address:1'? That should connect you to session 1. Also note the "shared=true" (or equiv) config setting allowing people to share sessions. If you can't work it out, maybe post log excerpts from both vncserver and client side?
