Help with 'qmake'; install a wireless driver

I am running suSE 9.2 distro which was downloaded via the FTP site. Currently, I am trying to enable a LinkSys wireless WMP54G PCI NIC card. I want to accomplish this through the Ralink 2500 driver under development. I've loaded the modules but am having trouble with invoking "qmake," command, part of the Qt/X11 application development tool which I though was part of the suSE distribution. YAST indicates that QT3 is installed.

Note - I am not a programmer and am new to Linux. However, I am getting the hang of the make command for compiling.

Is anyone familiar with qmake as it relates to suSE? And, has anyone painlessly installed this card and the ralink2500 driver?

I'm getting good advice in bits and pieces from forums but need to but it all together. Help would be appreciated.

This would be very unusual. Normally you get at least error messages. If this is the case, please post. Otherwise, please specify 'hang'.

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
