Help! Sound under OSS SUSE 10.0!
Hi!
Recently I reported about silence on my PC... I managed to install (over the Internet) required drivers for my ThinkPad 600X (Crystal Sound from Cirrus Logic). Then I started ALSA. Now I have a sound... Both KDE and GNOME show me the volume control... BUT! The sound is permanently tehre, and it is terrible! Permanent electrical noice, so-to say...
Besides, GNOME starts now extremely slow!
Please! Can anybody help me in this case? I really need some hints how to make the sound card work, and not just produce some noice!
As additional information I can say, that "Volume Cntrol Preferences" window in GNOME shows somehow 2 cards - Sound Fusion CS46xx (Alsa Mixer) and Cirrus Logic CS4297A rev3 (OSS mixer). What does it mean? How can I get reed of one card?
Thanks in advance! I really think about going back to 9.1 or 9.3 To be honest, 10.0 left rather bad impression... :-(
Regards,
A.
