Help, not able to configure EsounD in KDE, its missing...

Help!

I need to configure gstreamer to use esd as audio output in KDE, but the choise is missing!

The:

KDE Control Center -> Sound & Multimedia -> Sound System -> Hardware ->
Select the audio device

...only have following choices:

- Autodetect
- Advanced Linux Sound Architecture
- Jack Audio Connection Kit
- No Audio Input/Output
- Open Sound System
- Threaded Open Sound System

, the "Enlightened Sound Daemon" is missing...

I checked both on a 9.2 and a 10.0 box.

I need this in order to get sound support in my NX clients.

Anyone that knows how to set this up???

Regards,
ึsten

Sounds like you haven't installed the esound package.

Nope, esound and esound-devel is installed and the esound service is up and running.

Is this special to the suse distribution, i.e. centos and other distributions I checked has the "Enlightened Sound Daemon" selectable?
