Help!!!!

Okay! Here's my problem. I have Suse 11.1, Gforce 5200 graphics, compiz, and all the upgrades.
When I open up , my browser, and applications, I am having a problem. My browser and any application I open will only fill the left side of the screen. I cannot get a full screen, and there are no minimize, enlarge, or exit buttons in top right hand side of any app or browser. I have to use the exit button or quit button on the drop down file menu.
I have tried readjusting compiz, so far nothing has worked. This is very annoying. I hope someone can help me.
Thank you.

Please use thread titles which provide some hint of what the topic is----many people will ignore titles like "help". You can change is by clicking on "edit" and then go to the advanced mode.

I don't now anything about compiz (or why I would want to) but the first thing I would try is to turn it off. It is also possibly relevant to know what graphics driver you are using. If you don't have the NVidia official driver, definitely install it.

I have the official driver. Suse has been running for more than a month with no problem, it locked up, the screen separated into three separate images and froze up on me and I had to turn off my computer and when it rebooted the is when the problem started. I do not know how to correct it.

What about my suggestion to turn off compiz?

For that matter, try disabling any and all clever graphics things---I don't know what they all are.

Have you tried changing the display resolution to see if that has any effect?
