Has anybody successfully install GnoChm on OpenSuse 10.2 ?

Hi all,

I need to read Windows's CHM files, so I tried to install GnoChm since my desktop is Gnome, but I found it very frustating since it requires lots of dependencies mostly on Python stuff. Has anybody install it successfully or do you have suggestions regarding other CHM reader that's easy to install ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Setya

Gnochm doesn't have a lot of dependencies. All you need is python-devel, libchm and pychm. I've installed it successfully on many distros.

Really ?
After I install all those dependencies above, when I run gnochm it throw message :

Code:
You do not have all of the required Python modules to run gnochm.
Check the gnochm README file for tips on how to fix this.
What follows is the error description highlighting the problematic module.

No module named gtkhtml2
What's wrong ?

Just install the python-gtkhtml2 (or py-gtkhtml2) module using YAST or SMART and it should work.

I invoked YAST and directed the installation source to OpenSuse 10.2 installation disc, but I couldn't find python-gtkhtml2. Where shoud I direct installation source ?

I have just found out that on openSUSE, the python-gtkhtml2 module is in a package called python-gnome-extras.

Yes, I've found it and installed it, now GnoChm works perfectly.

Thank you very much for your help.
