I had a perfectly working Opensuse11.1 install with XBMC and accidentally downgraded python from 2.6 trying to install sopcatqui. Caused a lot of issue, but I resolved most, but I can't get a gui up locally on the machine

Here is some info
The machine boots into init3
if I init 5 it just the screen flashes and stays dark.
I can access a gui using vnc or NX
I luanch sax2 from that gui(remotely) and I see that my nvidia 6350 is up, but when I hit test is says testing failed. Sax ok : "X configuration: No information

I reinstalled nvidia drivers nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-default from one click and from yast

ran sax2 -r -m 0=nvidia
and got...
