/dev/hda2 2551 9733 576974477 f w95 EXT'D (LBA)
/dev/hda5 2551 3535 .... 7 MPFS/NTFS

/dev/hda7 3665 4555 ..... 83 Linux
/dev/hda8 4556 9464 ... 7 MPFS/NTFS

And cfdisk shows this:

name flag Part Type FS Type Label Size
hda1 Primary NTFS [^B] 20994
hda5 logical NTFS 8101
hda6 logical Linux swap /soalris 1061
hda7 logical Linux ReinserFS 7328
hda8 logical NTFS 40872
Free space 2212

Finaly..i tried to find grub.conf but when i do: cd/boot/grub it says it does,'t exist such directory....i found grub in /user/bin and in /user/sbin/grub/.....why can be this ???

now.....can anyone tell me what can i do??? i think it is strange that in cfdisk it isn't any partitio marked as "bootable"

Thanks

I repaired it...i booted from mi cd1 of suse, i put installation, then rapair and i did it with the advanced repair...i chose install boot or install grub (i am spanish i don't know the transa.ltion jajaj) and it worked

the only porblem is that it is a bit different when suse boot...because in grub options before this problem i had for instance XNE and now i don't...and when i power off the pc y appear lots of command lines like suse 8 instead of the GUI..but i thinks thees are just details because suse inside wotks perfect

i came to the conclution that norton system works..when you do an optimitation disk....there is the problem...i don't know why....

thnaks
