I am running suse10 with gnome 2 GUI.
I just noticed my taskbar is missing. so when I minimize anything it goes into a black hole and
I have no way getting the window back.
I did not see any obvious place for configuring the task bar either.
how do I set up /recover task bar in gnome 2 ?

If you still have the panel, it should be a matter of right clicking on your panel and choosing to add the taskbar to the panel. I can't be more specific because I am not running GNOME right now.
