Make a vm, get a new iso of 12.2 and be sure to test it. Then only install gimp from suse source. Some of the one click packages are not really tested, they are made by regular people. If the vm works correctly then you have to look at your system. If the vm fails then look at software.
I have been building 'The Gimp' from the source for over 10 years
and do not use a prebuilt rpm on suse
so ?????
it might be a bug in the rpm ? or not ?
also on suse i DISLIKE with a passion the "one click" install
as i am using OpenSUSE 12.1 and NOT 12.2 yet the version of gimp i am using is 2.6
( that way i do not have to build 2.8 against a bunch of different base installed packages )
Distribution: Mint 20, Kali, Peppermint, Ubuntu, MakuluFlash, Fedora 32, Windows 12 Lite, MakuluLinux

Thanks I will probably try a fresh install is 2.8 availble?
2.6 gimp is the problem. I have tried suse12.2 and Ubuntu (both with 2.6 they both have yellow printing.
Hey Op. I've just tested this, and it's not yellow, but i think i know what you mean. I've had issues with Gimps text input before too. Try this method, type what you want to type, even if it isn't the colour you want, and then highlight the text and change the colour while the text is highlighted. That seems to be a work around for me. I've had to do the same thing to change size too.
