if your using kde (which im assuming you are) go to kde-apps.org and they should have some ftp progs. I use either konquerer or Kasalanca when i do ftp.
@aus9, i don't really grab this information... i have not yet installed windows, because i missed my key. but is the messy overview over my hard-discs a sign for an error?
Just wanted to put my vote in for Kasablanca, it's the easiest and most straight forward of the kde ftp programs out there. You can get it at kdeapps.org.
since you tipping me (thanks!) i used konqueror as ftp-program. but just the last few weeks a problem occured and occurs everytime now: if i copy folders with several subfolders, the program will ask me to logg in another time - and then saying i have reached the "maximum number of 2 clients at a time". actually, i cannot access the folder with typing my password or pressing "cancel" then. i have to wait a while until i logg out automatically and then logg in again. if i take folder for folder, there won't be a problem. any idea how to solve this problem?
You are most likely stuck with this performance, as konqueror does not offer you the option of logging out like a proper ftp program like gFTP gives you and the connection limit is a server setting.
I like konqueror for doing small jobs, like editing files on-line.
I browse the the site just like it is on my own computer, find the fie that needs changing, right click and open with KWrite (text editor) make my changes and save (all done).
