I am installing 9.3 with an ATI 8500 vid and Viewsonic flatscreen monitor. Problem I am having is that suse's install screens are to big for the display. Basically the information rolls off to the sides and I cannot see the information.
Is there something I can add as a kernel option which will address this issue? I have had this problem in a few other installs but never took the time to resolve it. Now I am!
Two other possibilities to consider are that your resolution may be too low, or the image is not sized properly for the monitor. For the resolution, try pressing "Alt-Ctl-+" (the Alt, Ctl, and "+" keys) simultaneously, which will allow you to scroll through the various available resolutions. The system may just be defaulting to a non-optimal value. If that does not work, I'd try using the buttons on the front of the monitor itself to shrink/adjust the size and alignment of the screen image. -- J.W.
