Firmware directory on openSUSE 10.2?

I'm trying to get my Hauppage PVR-500 up and running by following the directions at http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Firmware. However, I can't find the firmware directory on openSUSE 10.2. The instructions at the link I gave had some good suggestions for trying to find the directory, but none of them panned out. Does anyone know where the directory is on this latest release?

I did the firmware for my broadcom wifi card ... I put the firware for it in /var/lib I also noticed firmware for other hardware there also ....

I'm afraid I'm still not sure how to go about setting this up. In Suse 10.1 this was so easy... I just dropped the firmware into the firmware hotplug directory and I was good to go. Now that directory no longer exists and it looks like hotplug has been replaced with udev. /var/lib doesn't quite seem like the right place to me, but even if I did put it there, wouldn't I need to do something else to finish the setup?
