It works, just unzip the file and copy the file libflashplayer.so to your plugins folder. That file will be in the folder created by the unzip. For me, my plugin folder was:
/usr/lib/firefox/plugins
(This was done as root, but I also copied it to my home/.mozilla/plugin directory)
This is really cool, I had no idea you could watch entire episodes of past shows !!
The safest way to install plug-ins is with YaST, if you can find a repository. The next best is to find a .rpm package, download it, right-click on the file and select "Install Software". The download manager may give you the option to "open with software installer", or "install software with Zen". I did that for Flash and various video codecs and it worked fine. There is a .rpm package on the Macromedia site. I tried using their instructions first, but that didn't work, so I did it the way I described and it worked.
YaST can be a real pig, but once I got it updated and working properly, it has been a real treat to use. It can be very slow, but it is the main reason I have stuck with Suse. I've now down 3 PC's and 2 laptops and each time it gets easier.

I currently have all the computers and laptops in my house configured as dual boot with WinXP, but I see the day soon approaching that I can ditch the Microsoft stuff !!!

i got it to work too!!
How funny it is to be enlightened by a newbie! = ]
(of course, im pretty new too)
Anyways, here's the deal:
i dont have a "/usr/lib/firefox/plugins" directory.
but instead, i put it here: "/usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so"
i did it as root (like you said), and that made it work!!
(i think putting it here makes it system-wide)
Also, i dont have that plugins directory:
"/home/bonito/.mozilla/plugins/"
either.
i thought about manually creating it... but i didnt.
But like i said, it works anyway!!!
Hey bonito, in your home directory, you may want to select 'show hidden files' from konqueror's 'View' menu. The .mozilla folder is a hidden folder and you won't see it otherwise. There is actually a ton of stuff in there that is hidden.

hey, im Not THAT new!!! = ]
actually the ".mozilla" directory is there, just not the "plugins" directory within it.
Only a "firefox" directory and a "appreg" file is there.
But no worries, its working wonderfully by putting it in "/usr/lib/browser-plugins/libflashplayer.so"
I just mentioned it for anyone who may have a similar problem.
(this is for Suse10.0... decided to wait for 10.2 instead of going to 10.1)

LOL... maybe I should apologize for that Although you could do a lot worse than Desperate Housewives.
I have many years of experience with Windows so the learning curve for me was maybe not as steep as some.
And bonito, sorry if I offended you at all. I certainly didn't mean to. It's hard to know the experience level of any one person, so I just state what I know, or what has worked for me.

I followed your instructions and now can use FP9! I showed my wife, who is also a Linux newbie, and now I can hear Desperate Housewives blasting on her computer 
Although you could do a lot worse than Desperate Housewives.
