Firefox...Certificates

Recently I've been receiving error or warning messages regarding a certificate conflict for my out going smtp mail server.
This so far only occurs when using firefox.
The message looks like:

security error: Domain name mismatch.
you're trying to connect to smtp.hostname.com however the certificate presented belongs to XXXX.megaservers.com.

Is this a bug or virus (are linux viruses possible?)
Should I be concerned?
How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance.

This is a warning that the certificate presented to you by the webserver isn't entirely correct.
Probably this is only a misstake from the administrators of the web site. They have probably not updated their certificate when changing hostnames. This is how ever a concern because you do not longer know for sure that it really is the right server you are communicating with.

To resolve this I would contact the administrator of the web server in question and confront them with this error message and advise them to update if that is the problem.

I'll go ahead and contact my ISP.
