failed to unmount /var

I have a computer with Opensuse 42.3.
/var is on a separate partition.

During shutdown / restart there is a problem with unmounting /var. [Failed] to unmount /var.

How to analyze this problem?

Sometimes dmesg shows sigterm or traps signals.

Post the /etc/fstab line for /var.

fstab line of /var:

UUID=4f36fa2f-d8d9-4de6-9fdf-422f26127f73 /var ext4 acl,user_xattr 1 2

Would the system have been writing to /var/log at the time?

Keruskerfuerst 10-17-2017 08:27 AM

At time of boot or time of sigterm/traps?

I was thinking of when it shut down. Especially if you have a trap that might log something at exit.

The system does not write to /var/log.

I think I had a virus on my system, systemd.

I had to reinstall.
