Epson WF5110 produces very weak print with Libreoffice But is fine when Libreoffice is used in Windows

Hi All,
Dell Optiplex 780

uname -r = 4.12.14-lp151.28.36-default

cat /etc/os-release =
====================================
NAME="openSUSE Leap"
VERSION="15.1"
ID="opensuse-leap"
ID_LIKE="suse opensuse"
VERSION_ID="15.1"
PRETTY_NAME="openSUSE Leap 15.1"
==================================

The print output from this machine, using LibreOffice, is pathetic, unuseable.
The same file printed using LibreOffice in Win 10 is absolutely fine.

I know, just use Windows. Defeats the object guys and gals.
Any advice welcome.

Regards and hope you're staying safe.

Chris

If you set up the printer in YaST, it's pretty straightforward to search for and try different printer drivers. I would see if any of the other drivers yield better results.

The search Term on the Epson side is not:
wf 5110

Its wf-5110 or 5110

You see the difference between your search term and my ones?

If you search with the right term, you can download the Epson drivers for your printer.

I see.

I'm using Yast to find the drivers and all its examples are WF-5110.

I've tried selecting a couple of the others by nothing prints. Here's an excerpt from the CUPS log.

Code:
I [06/Apr/2020:11:15:43 +0100] [Job 367] Adding start banner page "none".
I [06/Apr/2020:11:15:43 +0100] [Job 367] Queued on "EPSON_WF-5110_Series" by "root".

E [06/Apr/2020:11:15:43 +0100] [Job 367] Unable to start filter "/opt/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr/cups/lib/filter/epson-escpr-wrapper" - Success.
E [06/Apr/2020:11:15:43 +0100] [Job 367] Stopping job because the scheduler could not execute a filter.
I [06/Apr/2020:11:16:28 +0100] [Job 367] Job canceled by user.
A similar result came with other drivers that I've tried.

I've tried 6 drivers. They print better than what I had but fail to print double sided.

A search on the Suse site got me to

http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/opensus...3.aarch64.html

Which produced epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.6.18-lp151.2.3 RPM

Installed with Yast2 which reported:

Code:
Package /home/crb999/Downloads/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr-1.6.18-lp151.2.3.aarch64.rpm could not be installed.

Details:
Nothing followed 'Details:'

Reverted to the original driver and now double sided printing doesn't work.

It's getting emotional!
