DVD, VCD, DiVx too slow on SuSE 10.1

Hi,

Some weeks ago I already posted the same thread but got no answers.
my problem is that I can play DVDs, SVCD and DiVX on my system, but when playing a movie, it is slow - like it is played in slow motion. Audio and subtitles are perfectly synchronized. I have everything needed to play those files and everything was normal on SuSE 10.0. I was trying to resolve the problem, googling around the net but no success. Anybody help??
I would appreciate it.

Regards:study:

Could this be a hardware problem? Do you get the same problem when you play files from HDD?
Did you enable DMA for your CD drive? Not sure how it looks like in 10.1, but there should be a menu item in YaST->Hardware to do this.

hi abisko00,

yes I have DMA on and both my DVD players/writers are playing normal on WinXp( I have dual boot system). I have not tried to play from HDD. I will copy one DVD on my HDD and try to play it from there.
