DVD Playback on SLED 10 - SP1 ?

Hi Folks,

I just did a fresh load of SLED 10 SP1 and the usual instructions for enabling DVD playback from the Jem Report at: http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/270/1 don't work anymore...

All steps work untill the last where the Zen Updater is supposed to refresh and find more updates. Reboot & refresh is a no-go....

Also MPlayer doesn't work, just a font error that I read about but don't have a fix for... is it necessary anyway?

Anyone got a way to get DVD's crankin' on SLED 10 SP1 ?

Thanks.

I used Jem's report at http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/254/ to create my libdvdcss file and it worked like a champ under SLED 10 SP1 using 64 bit. Just what kind of problem with the DVD decryption and loading the file did you have?

Thank You,

Sorry I didn't reply, I was out of town......

Ok, I just got the usual message about the Plugin for DVD's not being installed when I tried to play DVD's with Kaffene after the procedure.

I'm on a fresh load of SP1, I'll try your procedure listed above is possible for a non-64 bit system.

Thanks.

I found this dude's site and burnt his CD for SP1 and it worked like a champ ;-) I run Gnome & XGL. It didn't mess up anything on the system that I can see.

Which version of SLED?

I tried to install that CD on SLED 10 SP1 86_64 (64bit verion) and I'm getting dependencies errors. ( I was trying to install VLC and Mplayer)

Which version do you have? If you have SLED 64bit verion could you give me some idea how to make this version multimedia friendly?

Thanks

Sorry,

I have the 32 bit version and it installed great on 2 different machines. I'd recommend emailing the guy. I did with another question and he was very helpful.

I also heard this works for the 64 bit version:
